Heatpump Service, Repair & Installation

Heatpump serviceValley Heating, Cooling & Appliances knows heatpumps.

Every single technician available to service your heat pump is NATE certified and has at least 15 years in the air conditioning and heating industry. Your heat pump is designed to function the same way forwards and backwards to either heat or cool your home. The efficiency of a heat pump is best in climates similar to Arizona's.

So when should I schedule an appointment?

Any time your home or office is not comfortable you should obviously schedule service. To prevent this from happening, you should have at least 1 preventative maintenance performed per year on your heat pump unit. Most of the utility and air conditioning manufacturers actually recommend having a tune-up and inspection performed twice a year to ensure proper functionality and peak efficiency. Always check your air conditioners air filter before scheduling a service call, as quite a few calls we go on are due to a dirty air filter. The air filters primary job is to keep large dust and debris out of the system. When this filter clogs to the point that air can no longer freely pass through to the indoor coil, heat does not properly transfer in and out of the system causing a system failure.

Defrost Cycle.

There are times that it may seem the heat pump is not functioning correctly when it actually is. We receive a high number of questions regarding noises home owners hear during normal functions. Typically this is the defrost cycle of the heat pump. The heat pumps defrost cycle is when it goes into air conditioning mode to melt any frost that has collected on the outdoor coils. Most newer systems have a thermostat located at the bottom of the coil that senses when its cold enough to initiate a defrost cycle, which then monitors the outdoor coil temperature until it reaches 57 degrees. Some older units will automatically enter defrost mode, even during the hot summer season. Either way it is common to hear a loud whoosh coming from the air conditioner, and this is completely normal.
